Deck builder in Loveland CO
Loveland is Larimer County's second-largest city, 76,378 people at the 2020 census, and it was founded in 1877 along the Colorado Central Railroad, near its crossing of the Big Thompson River. Its housing runs from older blocks near downtown and the Benson Sculpture Garden to the newer subdivisions out toward Boyd Lake and I-25, and that mix shapes the deck work: rebuilds of tired wood decks on older homes, and first decks on newer houses that came with a slab out back.
The services are the same as in Fort Collins: composite deck installation, cedar and wood decks, repair and replacement, railings, covered decks and pergolas. What changes is the office: inside city limits, Loveland's Building Division reviews the plans and inspects the work.

Loveland deck permits and design numbers
Loveland has adopted amendments to the 2024 International Code Council codes; check the effective date with the City. The design criteria below come from the City's own amendment to the residential code's design table (revised December 15, 2022, under the previous code cycle). Confirm them, and the size and height exemption for small decks, with the City's Building Division before drawing plans.

The 30 inch frost depth means piers under an attached Loveland deck go at least that deep, and the 35 psf snow figure sets the framing for any roof over a deck. West of the city
Head west from Loveland toward the foothills or up the Big Thompson and the address usually leaves city limits. Those homes permit with Larimer County, which needs a permit for a deck more than 30 inches above grade or serving as the main entry, and which applies its wildfire code across the unincorporated county. See the Larimer County deck permit rules and the wildfire code guide.
Loveland deck prices
Loveland prices follow the Denver market: about $22 to $55 per square foot installed for a new deck and $746 to $3,060 for a typical repair (Angi, 2026). An installed composite deck runs about $25 to $54 per square foot on Angi's national figures.
